I cannot stand Lukas Perman’s Alfred. He was boring, he didn’t really to seem to understand the role and his Alfred came off as an arrogant jerk who only wanted to get inside Sarah’s pants. I have never been so dissapointed in a performer before, especially after his wonderful Rudolf in Elisabeth.

Wow. This is so worlds away from how I see Lukas!Alfred that it actually kind of astonishes me, because I really see none of this in his portrayal. I don’t see an arrogant jerk when I look at Lukas, nor is he boring to me. Odd, how very different views people can actually have on one person’s interpretation of a character.

^ What Wil said. I see such sweetness in Lukas!Alfred, and I don’t think what the confession said is true at all. In fact, I see something far from arrogance in Lukas, I see a lack of confidence and a vulnerability in him.
Also the “he didn’t really to seem to understand the role” line is really bugging me. Who are you to dictate how a role is played? There is no right or wrong, and no one’s opinion is better than anyone else’s. Just because someone plays a role differently to how you’d like doesn’t mean that they “don’t understand the role”, it means they have a different idea. I’ve seen my favourite roles played differently, some I liked, some I didn’t. It doesn’t mean they are wrong. It means they are different. I find, I’d rather have someone play it differently and me not like it than have someone try and copy someone else, because then it wouldn’t be their interpretation. There’s something beautiful in seeing how differently two actors can play the same character.
But anyway, I’m not getting into this again. It was over Lukas that I got to see just how vicious certain parts of the Tanz fandom can be, and I’m not getting involved again.

I agree about a lot of things you say.
And one thing I didn’t remember to say before: I also don’t see how Lukas!Alfred only wants to get into Sarah’s pants. To me, he seems way too infatuated with her (especially with Marjan!Sarah) on this completely ideal level that for the moment, he doesn’t even seem to be thinking of her as someone he wants to have sexy times with. I think it was xixthesun who once coined it: he’s in love with love and I think this is especially true for Lukasfred.
